Copper & Black Obsidian (The Mayan Stone)

The Mayan shamans used Obsidian and Quartz for their healing and divination rituals.

Obsidian is formed when volcanic lava comes into contact with water; this forces it to cool so quickly that it doesn't have time to crystallize resulting in a stone with a shiny, glassy texture.

Black Obsidian is a very protective stone and is said to be a great cleanser of negative energies, helping to remove not only negativity experienced in the environment, but also that of one's own emotions, such as anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, etc. Because of this it should be cleansed regularly in running water. The stone is often used for healing and releasing energy blockages, and has a tendency to work quickly to move truths to the surface to be resolved.

In healing: Reduce the pain of arthritis, to help joint problems and to ease cramp. It is also said to aid digestion.

COPPER
Copper is considered a mineral of energy and mental agility. In legend, copper is said to be the metal of the God Hermes, who facilitates that mental agility, and quick wit.

Copper is an excellent conductor of energy, from electricity to the mystical subtle energies emanating from higher planes, etc. Thus, copper is said to enhance and transmit thoughts, even over long distances.

Copper is used in traditional folk remedy and crystal healing lore to bring in additional energies for all types of healing, treatment of arthritis, relieving pain of broken bones, sexual instability, and low energy.
